SmartHome Control System (SHCS)
« on: October 16, 2009, 20:01:38 »
This is also nice program like LogTemp.

LogTemp -> http://www.mrsoft.fi/ohj01en.htm

IMPORTANT! SHCS is soon going to replaced with a new software called b@Home. This application will support Temperature, Consumption, Tellstick devices, Function based Events. It is developed in c# and takes care of known bugs discovered in SHCS. It is currently under testing and will probably be released during October 2009!
   The application is developed in LabView 8.5 and uses Maxim´s TMEX API. All is build to an exe-file and installed with an installer. SHCS uses an MsAccess database to store temperature measurements.

What can I say? SHCS wasn't a hit, likely due to the limitations, max 10 devices, max one counter...

I see b@home is developed in C# - I'd not be supprised if he is using my 1-Wire .NET library (http://sourceforge.net/projects/owdotnet/) I just hope he realizes that there are several bugs in that library which I have fixed in MSure (I don't maintain that open source library any more)

However, I wish him all the luck.

Nice to see b@Home beeing mentioned in Per´s forum  ;)!

As I see it MSure and b@Home serves different purposes. I have not been a active reader regarding all MSure updates, but i think there is still some big differences in design making these applications fill seperate purposes.

b@Home is beeing developted in my spare time (aswell as MSure I guess) and is just a fun hobby
for me. But hopefully some people may find it useful, I know some already did. Thats why I now
have released it.

So for now MSure and b@Home is going on two different roads, maybe we will meet in the future!
Btw..I´m not using the owdotnet library.

Take Care!
